Casa de María Publisher advances its mission through public events that foster dialogue, reflection, and civic engagement. Through literary gatherings, institutional collaborations, and community-centered conversations, storytelling becomes a practice of public service, cultural preservation, and social responsibility.
What We Carry, What We Claim: Latina Writers on Voice, Memory, and Becoming is a free public literary program organized by Casa de María Publisher in observance of Hispanic Heritage Month. The program will take place at Dwight Hall at Yale University.
The event features a moderated panel discussion with four nationally recognized Latina authors. Together, they explore questions of identity, cultural memory, and narrative responsibility.
The program centers on how Latina writers navigate inherited histories and personal experiences. It explores how these authors claim authorship over their stories. Through readings and conversation, the authors will reflect on writing as both a creative and civic practice. It is one that bears witness, preserves cultural memory, and contributes to broader conversations about belonging, equity, and voice.
AUTHOR PANEL:

During Women’s History Month, Casa de María Publisher presented Grace and Boldness: Latina Voices for Change. The program took place at the Dwight Hall Center for Public Service and Social Justice, Yale University, in New Haven, Connecticut.
The event was held in a historic campus space commonly used for educational programs and public conversations. The setting supported dialogue and reflection around issues related to public service and social responsibility.
Student workshops supporting emerging young writers are an integral part of Casa de María Publisher’s public programming. These workshops introduce students to creative writing as a tool for self-expression, reflection, and storytelling, while fostering confidence and literacy across age groups.
Casa de María Publisher conducts school-based writing workshops in Bayamón, Puerto Rico. We are developing workshop offerings for bilingual K–8 and high school communities in Toa Alta and Dorado, Puerto Rico. These educational engagements reflect a commitment to nurturing young voices and supporting the next generation of writers within culturally responsive learning environments.
Workshop offerings may include age-appropriate writing sessions, bilingual creative exercises, and guided discussions that encourage students to see their stories as meaningful and worthy of care.
Casa de María Publisher collaborates with universities, cultural institutions, and community organizations to create public programs that honor intellectual rigor, lived experience, and ethical responsibility.
These engagements are designed to foster meaningful dialogue, support advocacy-centered storytelling, and encourage sustained public reflection.
